What is a "true" Christian?

What is a true Christian? Is it someone who does all the right things? Thinks great and holy thoughts? Is it someone prude, boring and content on having no fun?

Before you answer... watch these videos and tell me your thoughts...these videos show what most people think...

I believe that a true Christian is anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. Bible says in John 3:16 "Except a man be Born Again, he Shall not see the Kingdom Of God", being Born Again is the same thing as having personal faith in a living God, Jesus Christ.

The Old Testament Law, the Ten Commandments and the Torah, set a standard that was un-achievable. That was the whole point. Under the New Covenant of the New Testament Jesus becomes the standard to live up to. No one can do it, and that's the point. Our only hope is to admit that we can't do it and to ask Jesus to forgive us for that fact. We must ask Him to rescue us. From that point on we become dependent on Him for our guidance. Naturally, He wants us to do our best, to come as close to His standard as possible. He knows we're gonna screw it up. But He expects us to keep trying, and He wants us to rely more and more on Him and less on our own ability. We can't even do THAT most of the time, and He knows that too. His patience and love is endless. So long as we are trying, He is there to lead and encourage us. That's the essence of being a Christian. It's called the Christian walk and it's a struggle that never ends until the grave. Mature Christians understand this. Unfortunately, the world does not and attacks every mis-step. There is truth to be revealed in those videos, although not, perhaps, what was intended.
