Was thinking tonight, and I feel it's 100% completely true.
God gives everyone gifts and talents.... and at SOME point in their life there will be The Choice and The Opportunity behind the door that you will come face to face with to use those talents or gifts. Those who are happy tend to be those who are using their talents in some way to better life in some way.
The really sad part is that way too many will never see this.
Why? Because of fear, lack of initiative, or lack of self esteem.
It doesn't have to be that way though...

For the first time in my life I have the opportunity to use my musical talents for Jesus. It is bitter sweet, because I simply cannot play guitar like I could twenty years ago. On the other hand, years ago I was much too shy, immature and self-absorbed to have been much good to any sort of Christian service. God knows what He's doing, and if He wills I will be able to continue for a long time. I serve Him now, the best I can, and delight in every minute of it!
First off, I love the blog title. So... unchristian! Talents are many, abundant blessings... Mostly focusing on music and things musical. I do have the ability to write pretty well, and to understand what others are experiencing emotionally... All by god's Grace.
I often wonder if there is a difference between a spiritual gift and a talent. I'm a good guitar player and singer, played in many vocally oriented bands playing covers of CSNY, Eagles, etc., and love modern country and many christian bands. I would love to play in a good christian band with that vocal emphasis but I'm not sure if that would be considered my "spiritual gift". I've prayed for God to reveal this to me.
I agree with you but I realised tonite that my gifts, talents, abilities and CALL are useless without the constant flow of the annointing... and I find for me it is so easy to be out of that flow... I find that I think I love and then I am somehow tried on it and don't always get it...that ego, I tell ya'. I also find that God does not try us to find out what is in our hearts but rather for us to find out what is in our hearts...
